The skill
The index knowledge skill generates a hierarchy of AGENTS.md files for a codebase: a root file plus files for complex subdirectories, picked by a scoring matrix and written by parallel agents.
Only when you ask.
The habit
Agent docs match the codebase.

When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after one pass over the repository, with max depth from --max-depth.
Your agent tracks discovery, scoring, generation and review with TodoWrite.
It launches explore agents scaled to project size and reads existing AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files.
It measures structure with find and uses LSP symbols when available.
It weights file count, subdirs, exports and references to pick AGENTS.md locations.
It writes the root file first, then subdirectory files in parallel.
It removes generic advice and parent duplicates and prints the final report.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Index Knowledge skill helps.
Only with --create-new, and it reads them first to keep their context. The default mode updates them.
No. Low-scoring folders are skipped because the parent file covers them.
Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from tursodatabase/turso and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add tursodatabase/turso --skill index-knowledge.
