The skill
The solana dev skill is an end-to-end playbook for Solana: wallet connection, Anchor and Pinocchio programs, Kit clients, Surfpool and LiteSVM testing, security review and v1 transactions.
Only when you ask.
The habit
Solana changes built, tested, risk-noted.

When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
One pull request per run, one retry after a failed build, never mainnet without your explicit request.
Sort the change into UI, client, program, testing or infra, using the Solana MCP server for current docs.
Confirm cluster, fee payer, transaction version, account owners, signers and token program variant.
Run NO_DNA=1 anchor build and NO_DNA=1 anchor test with LiteSVM, Mollusk or Surfpool.
Run simulateTransaction on devnet or localnet and show the result.
Show recipient, amount, token, fee payer and cluster, and wait for your approval.
List changed files and a short risk section for signing, fees, CPIs or token transfers.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Solana Dev skill helps.
No. The skill defaults to devnet or localnet and needs your explicit request for mainnet.
No. The skill never asks for or stores private keys or seed phrases.
It tells Anchor and Surfpool a non-human runs them, which turns off prompts and gives structured output.
Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from solana-foundation/solana-dev-skill and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add solana-foundation/solana-dev-skill --skill solana-dev.
