How the habit works.
You don't have to.

Three questionsWhen does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?

One run, step by step.
Then it stops.

Stop ruleStops after one build and test pass per run, or after three failed build attempts.

  1. 01

    Read the workflow

The agent reads the saved commands, or reads the argent-environment-inspector result and package.json scripts on the first run.

  2. 02

    Check Metro

It checks the port with lsof and debugger-status and starts Metro only if none is running.

  3. 03

    Get a device

It picks a device with list-devices and boots it with the argent-ios-simulator-setup or argent-android-emulator-setup steps.

  4. 04

    Reload or rebuild

It uses debugger-reload-metro for JS changes and a rebuild for native changes.

  5. 05

    Check runtime

It reads debugger-log-registry and uses describe or screenshot to check the screen.

  6. 06

    Confirm tests

It asks you which test suite to run, then runs it.

  7. 07

    Ask after failures

After two or three failed builds it stops and asks you for guidance.

What it may do.
Nothing more.

Safe by defaultIt writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.

Is it for you?
Use it when it fits.

Quick checkRead both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Argent React Native App Workflow skill helps.

Use it when

  • ✓ You start a React Native app
  • ✓ Metro or the build fails
  • ✓ You need to run app tests

Skip it when

  • – You test on a physical iPhone
  • – The project is not React Native

Questions

Argent React Native App Workflow skill, answered.

Will it kill a process on my Metro port?

Only with your OK. The skill says to ask, and stop-metro needs your confirmation.

Does it work on a physical iPhone?

No. The skill says Metro debugging tools reject physical iPhones, so use a simulator.
