The skill
Writes notes so a new chat can pick up your work.
Only when you ask.
Time saved
You never lose the thread. A fresh agent continues right where you stopped.
↻ Runs by itselfwhen a chat ends or gets full
When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after one validated handoff per run, with 1 retry.
Run python scripts/create_handoff.py with a task slug, using --continues-from to chain to earlier work.
Complete the current state, important context, next steps and decisions in the generated file.
Run python scripts/validate_handoff.py and fix placeholders, secrets or a low score.
Report the file location, score and the first action item for the next session.
On resume, list handoffs, check staleness, read the document fully and verify context before working.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Session Handoff skill helps.
When secrets are detected or the quality score is below 70.
By chaining handoffs with --continues-from, so each links to its predecessor.
