Slack Search

The skill
The slack search skill finds messages, files, channels and people across Slack with the search MCP tools, using modifiers such as in:, from: and before:, file-type filters and thread follow-ups, for anyone gathering Slack context.
Only when you ask.
The habit
Weekly decisions found and summarised.
↻ Runs by itselfevery Friday
When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after one digest per run, with at most 20 results per search page.
Your agent starts with a natural language question about this week's decisions.
It adds in:channel-name and after:YYYY-MM-DD filters if results are too many.
It searches the topic, then people, then specific channels.
It reads each thread with slack_read_thread and nearby messages with slack_read_channel.
It lists decisions and open questions with links and skips threads already covered.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Slack Search skill helps.
Only with slack_search_public_and_private, which requires user consent.
Search is not real-time; slack_read_channel covers the latest messages.
Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from slackapi/slack-skills-plugin and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add slackapi/slack-skills-plugin --skill slack-search.
