The skill
The finish line skill brings a blocked React Router community pull request to a mergeable state by adding missing tests, change files or docs on the contributor branch, with maintainer approval before any push.
Only when you ask.
The habit
Blocked community PRs get merged.
↻ Runs by itself/finish-line with PR
When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after one PR per run, and stops at once if git push fails.
Run git status --short --branch and git fetch origin main, and never stage unrelated files.
Use gh pr view, gh pr checks and gh pr diff on the target PR in remix-run/react-router.
Decide if the PR needs tests, a change file or docs, and ask you when the path is unclear.
Check if the diff changes behavior that can regress and if tests cover the affected modes.
After gh pr checkout, add only the missing finish-line changes on the contributor branch.
Show the file paths and full contents, then wait for your explicit OK to commit and push.
Commit, push to the PR branch and report blocker, commit hash, validation and coverage decision.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Finish Line skill helps.
No. It adds only the missing pieces and refactors only when that unblocks the merge and you agree.
It sums up the evidence and asks you whether to wait or recreate the work on a maintainer branch.
No. Docs come only when a documented API or user-facing behavior changes, or a reviewer asks.
