The skill

The yomiyasu skill edits AI-written Japanese into natural prose.

Only when you ask.

The habit

Natural Japanese in every draft.

↻ Runs by itselfnew Japanese draft added

How the habit works.
You don't have to.

Three questionsWhen does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?

One run, step by step.
Then it stops.

Stop ruleStops after one draft per run and at most one fix round.

  1. 01

    Pick the draft

Take the new .md or .txt file, skipping instruction files like AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md and earlier .material.txt extracts.

  2. 02

    Read the context

Decide document type, reader and stance, then load the matching references/doc-types and references/domains files.

  3. 03

    Lint the original

Run yomiyasu_lint.py on the source to collect candidate spots before rewriting.

  4. 04

    Rewrite carefully

Fix odd metaphors, unclear subjects and copy-style phrasing while keeping claim, weight, certainty and sentence role.

  5. 05

    Run the check

Save the final as a separate file and run yomiyasu_check.py run with --source and --final.

  6. 06

    Fix once

Review the diff candidates, correct once, and run the check again.

  7. 07

    Verify and log

Run verify --final on the file and note changes and writer questions in the log.

What it may do.
Nothing more.

Safe by defaultIt writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.

Is it for you?
Use it when it fits.

Quick checkRead both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the yomiyasu skill helps.

Use it when

  • ✓ You publish Japanese text drafted by AI
  • ✓ Drafts read stiff or full of odd metaphors
  • ✓ You need edits that keep the original meaning

Skip it when

  • – The text is not in Japanese
  • – You only want spelling unified

Questions

yomiyasu skill, answered.

Does it overwrite my original?

No. When it picks a file itself, the final goes to a new name in the same folder.

Does it unify spelling variants?

No. Apart from auxiliary verbs and a few formal nouns, it leaves notation as written.

What if a meaning is unclear?

It keeps the original wording and lists up to three questions for the writer.
