Smart Search

The skill

The smart search skill routes your agent's searches to the best opencli source: one AI source first, then specialist sites for social media, tech, news, shopping, travel, jobs or Chinese content, with call limits and a search summary.

Only when you ask.

The habit

A fresh topic digest, sources logged.

↻ Runs by itselfevery morning

How the habit works.
You don't have to.

Three questionsWhen does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?

One run, step by step.
Then it stops.

Stop ruleStops after 1 AI source call and at most 2 specialist sources with 2 calls each.

  1. 01

    Check live sites

Your agent runs opencli list -f yaml and confirms the candidate sites exist.

  2. 02

    Read site help

It runs opencli <site> -h and the command help before any search.

  3. 03

    Ask one AI source

It picks one of grok, doubao or gemini and sends a query with topic, goal and limits.

  4. 04

    Add specialists

If the AI answer lacks raw data, it adds one or two specialist sources.

  5. 05

    Keep the ledger

After each real search it records site, query, count and status.

  6. 06

    Summarize

It writes the digest and ends with the search summary, including skipped sites.

What it may do.
Nothing more.

Safe by defaultIt writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.

Is it for you?
Use it when it fits.

Quick checkRead both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Smart Search skill helps.

Use it when

  • ✓ You search through opencli sites
  • ✓ You need Chinese or platform-specific results
  • ✓ You want a logged search summary

Skip it when

  • – You do not have opencli installed
  • – A plain web search is enough

Questions

Smart Search skill, answered.

What if a site fails?

A failed call still counts. The loop notes the site as skipped and falls back to a similar site or the AI source.

Why only one AI source?

The skill limits each AI site to one call per question and uses one by default, unless you ask for a comparison.
