The skill
The datadog apm skill helps engineers set up Datadog APM on Kubernetes or Linux, search traces, analyze services and dependencies, and enable Data Streams Monitoring.
Only when you ask.
The habit
Slow and failing services flagged daily.
↻ Runs by itselfdaily trace check
When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after 10 services per run.
Ask you to confirm the env tag instead of assuming prod.
Run pup apm services list and pup apm services stats for the last hour.
Run pup traces search with status:error per service.
Run pup traces search with @duration:>1000ms per service.
Use pup apm flow-map for services that got worse.
List flagged services with queries and fixes from the troubleshooting table.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Datadog APM skill helps.
Use the service-remapping sub-skill, not DD_SERVICE changes.
Only via pup traces search with a trace_id query.
Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from datadog-labs/agent-skills and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add datadog-labs/agent-skills --skill dd-apm.
