The skill
The claude automation recommender skill scans a codebase and suggests the most useful Claude Code hooks, subagents, skills, plugins and MCP servers for it, for developers setting up or tuning their agent workflow.
Only when you ask.
The habit
Fresh automation ideas every month.
↻ Runs by itselffirst day each month
When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after one report per run, at most 2 recommendations per category.
The agent reads the run log to see what it suggested before.
It detects language, framework, key libraries, tests, CI, issue tracking and existing .claude/ config.
It maps each signal to MCP servers, skills, hooks, subagents and plugins using the skill's tables.
It uses web search for options specific to the detected tools and libraries.
It keeps one or two per category, skips irrelevant categories and drops ideas already set up.
It writes the report in the skill's format and appends it to the run log without touching project files.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Claude Automation Recommender skill helps.
No. The skill is read-only. You set up what you like, or ask your agent separately.
The skill keeps the list short on purpose so the most useful automations stand out.
Yes. If you name a type, it focuses on that type and gives three to five options.
Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from anthropics/claude-plugins-official and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add anthropics/claude-plugins-official --skill claude-automation-recommender.
Yes. It is published under Apache-2.0. Habit is free too.
